Story
The Greer High School Bands have a long tradition of excellence in marching band, concert band, and winter ensembles. We are proud to come from Greer, SC, and to represent our town with the highest standards of excellence. Our students are taught the value of hard work and dedication, and it is our goal to provide them with the tools to become successful people and musicians. The program has earned the SCBDA Outstanding Performance Award the last three years in a row (2022-2024). This the highest award the SCBDA can award a band program each year.
We strive to use our passion for music to bring the community together and to provide an enriching musical experience for our dedicated students.

Our bands are comprised of talented students from all backgrounds and include marching band, concert band, jazz band, and winter ensembles. We strive to provide the highest quality of musical education and performance while fostering a sense of teamwork, commitment, and respect in our students.
David Keller
Band Director
David is the Director of Bands at Greer High School in Greer, South Carolina. Originally from Charleston, SC, he attended Furman University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Music, and then he attended the American Band College, where he earned a Master's degree in Wind Band Conducting.

From 2011-2022, Mr. Keller was the Band Director at J.L. Mann High School in Greenville, SC, where he revitalized the band program, growing the program from 12 members to nearly 100. The marching band was a finalist in the SCBDA 4A Championships in 2018 and made their debut in 5A in 2021. The program consistently produced All-County, All-Region, and All-State players, as well as Superior Ratings at the SCBDA Concert Performance Assessment. Under Mr. Keller’s direction, the program earned the SCBDA Outstanding Performance Award in 2016 and 2021.

Mr. Keller’s professional affiliations include NAfME and Phi Mu Alpha. He lives with his wife, Michelle, son Brian, and corgi, Ginny, in the Greenville area.
The 'G' Force Marching Band
The G Force Marching Band has long been a staple of Friday Night Lights at Dooley Field. We take pride in our hard work and dedication to our craft, and to be a supporting entity for our community. Our efforts have paid off with a consistent top 5 placement in the state of South Carolina at the SCBDA Marching Championships. In 2005, we were even able to bring home the title of State Champion. We strive to not only be the best musicians we can be, but also the best people we can be.
Symphonic Winds
The Greer Symphonic Winds is the premiere concert band at Greer High School. We have a long history of the highest performance quality, earning numerous Superior Ratings. We are a consistent Grade V and VI ensemble, participating in festivals, concerts, and competitions. Our goal is to bring our music to the community and inspire others with our hard work and dedication to our craft.
